Prof. Reinhold Würth, today’s Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Würth Group’s Family Trusts, took over the business at the age of 19 after his father had passed away and developed it further in the following years. Starting from the early years of the company in post-war Germany, he turned the former two-man business into a worldwide operating trading group.
North American Expansion
Since establishing the first U.S. subsidiary in 1969, The Würth Group of North America has experienced significant expansion. From Automotive repair to Woodworking to Manufacturing and Assembly, you will find Würth products in use by professional craftsmen and technicians all over the continent. In North America, Würth has grown to more than 20 operating companies in the field of Automotive, Cargo, Wood, Industry, Construction, Manufacturing and Electronics.
Würth has a long history of involvement in sport sponsorship. From Formula One to Soccer to Winter Sports, The Group has been actively participating since the 1970’s. The first sponsorship involvement in Formula One Racing goes back to 1982. Due to the growth and development of the company in North America, the opportunity to participate in America’s number one spectator sport, NASCAR, was the logical choice.
